Settings¶
The settings course view is where you can modify the course meta data such as course name, seasonal name, as well as having the ability to delete the course.
Open course settings¶
1) To view your course's course settings, open the Courses page by clicking the Courses button in the activity bar, on the left side of the screen.
2) On the Courses page, click the blue Open button that corresponds to the course you'd like to open.
3) Now that the Courses page is open, in the bar at the top of the screen click the tab labeled Course settings.
Edit Settings¶
In this section, your can edit the following characteristics of the course settings:
Column Name | Description |

Instance name | When you create a course, you are creating something similar to a class in programming. For each semester that you teach the course, you will use the same class but you will just have to create a new instance. Learn more about creating a new course instance. You most likely will want the instance name as the name of the semester and year that you are teaching it in. Example "Fall 2023" or "Spring 2023". |
Course Name | This is the common name used to refer to your course. Changing this name will affect how searchable the course is on the enrollment page. More details on course enrollment. |
Classification | This is the course's non-human readable segment. It often includes the Department Code and Course Number. |
Delete a course¶
Students will lose access
The moment you delete a course, students will no longer be able to access the course material associated with the course. In other words, they will no longer be able to access the course's assignments and Grader Than Workspace linked to the course.
To delete a course, please complete the following steps:
1) Open the Courses page by clicking the Courses button in the activity bar, on the left side of the screen.
2) Find the card or row of the course you'd like to delete.
3) Click the More Options button to the right of the Open button for the course that you'd like to delete.
4) In the menu that appears click the Delete button.
